Sceners in China?

category: offtopic [glöplog]
Japan has a demo scene, but what about China?
Are there are any sceners in China, Hongkong or Taiwan?
If yes ... expats or locals?
China, Taiwan - they have the scene very hardware oriented.

Well, I happen to be in China (Suzhou), and I wish to put some demos together, in the "arty PC 4k" slot. I got ideas, but One Man Army have already many fights to fight. But with some more man-power, the sky's the limit.
Ho, and while I'm at it...

So, I'm a solid coder, and I've enough design/concept to keep me busy demoing for years. But composing music and graphics, I'm reaaaalllllly weak. If you happen to be in Suzhou or around (Shanghai for instance) and wish to brogramm and release like there's no tomorrow, please, raise your hands !
yeah, the sycini guys were active for a couple years, i think i interviewed them for one of the last issues of pain. havent heard from them in a while.

I received some graphics for Hugi from a Chinese scener a couple of years ago. Perhaps I will use some of them in the next issue.

brogramming, is this like pair-programming with a beer?

Brogramming have many ways, like "I never test my code, but when I do, it's always in production". The Jersey Shore school of codinf... But here, that would be all the team in a room with kamikaze bandana, rice-alcohol-powered, yelling at each other requests like "BUG IN CLIPPING ROUTINE !" "OK, I FIX IT" " WE ARE 408 BYTES TOO BIG !" "WAIT I CAN REMOVE THE HYPNOPANDA SCENE", a bit like in Japanese restaurants.
I'm sure it involves a lot of fist-pounding.

oh and thanks for clearing up power wagging :) though i'd say that's an antic more suitable for the office, so as to give a little extra oomph to the law you're laying down on a coworker.

Indeed, pouet is not blocked, but icanhazcheezeburger.com is blocked. I let you meditate on this. Or make a demo about it.
@ Gargaj: Thanks for the hint about KXXT by WX. All links are broken but youtube still has a capture.

@ Pirx: Thanks for the hint about Loca.

@ PS: Thanks for the hint about Sycini. All links are broken, but archive.org was helpfull.

@Adok: Please keep me posted.

@Bird: Sorry, I have to disagree. Beijing 798 (798艺术区) recently became very boring ... and according to rumours the Sugar Jar (白糖罐 Bai Tang Guan) is closed ... :-(
Hey ! I'm actually in China, in Beijing. I'm there for my study and I'm staying there until july 2012.

@breitbandkatze: I went to 798 two weeks ago. Duno how it was before but I found it quite interesting !

there are parties that accept remote entries. I wanna see demos from China! : D
@yannshu: Might be. It has been a while since my last visit.
Hello together, it is time to reactive this ...

Because I would like to continue my demoscene outreach project in Beijing, China and such plans are pretty incomplete without local support I would like to get in contact with sceners in and especially from China.
So if anyone is still in contact with groups like Studio 12, sYcini or Poney Garden or others I might never heard of ... please let me know. Any hint is appreciated ... :-)
... reactivate of course ...
