The pixel dies in five years.

So yeah, everything will be different. This came as quite a shock to me. What to do without our beloved pixels? And to think we only have five more years,.

But you need pixels to render lollygons. Or are they reinventing Vectrex again? :)

What PS on Ice said.

optimus: they've invented a new video codec that stores the video as vectors instead of pixels. They're going to show it to the world, with an amazing video of girls dancing to rave music, it's totally state of the art.

As long as there's Atari, there'll be pixels too
> it's totally state of the art
Simply great :-) And I am sure with some additional effort they will even be able to let the vectors look square!

Vectors are the future. Current games use pixels, so it looks pixelated, not realistic. But with vector graphics, you got UNLIMITED DETAILS ! (Mandelbrot wakes up from the dead and says "LOL")
It's by the British. That can't be taken seriously.

"if you've ever edited or drawn an image on your computer, you know that there are two primary ways of storing image data: As a bitmap, or as vectors."

yes, sure... but what about the final rendered data.

CURRENT GAMES USE 3D-VECTORS!!!
RAYTRACING IS THE FUTURE!

maybe with holographic 3d displays the pixel will finally die (or evolve into a voxel)?

Every time you announce CG related bullshit, God kills a pixel of your screen.

"The pixel dies in five years"

"Polygons are dead"

"Raytracing is the future"

anyone can recall more recent similar bullshit claims?

Every cube begins with a pixel.

No pixels == no cubes == no demoscene.

RIP

Salinga: wtf? 6 faces, 8 vertices, 12 edges, that can perfectly be represented by vectors, so the demoscene is saved. At least we keep the cubes.

Too bad for the glow, though...
