Don't go here http://c64clicker.com/ Especially if you're meant to be doing something productive.

I'm currently at 346khz, but going to have to go home now.

I suddenly found a usage for this fancy double-click button on my new mouse.
Let the record show that I tried.

FWIW I recently found some people at the university's terminal room who just recently got into cookie clicker, while I haven't played it in about a year or so. :D
:)

You guys clearly have missed Cookie Clicker, Clicking Bad and all the other clones. Educate yourself.
AutoIt for the rescue!

They were hard to miss :)
A shame you can't save this one. I'm running a clock speed of 73,309hz.

Running at 158 kHz with floppy drive -- the 'blank screen' and demo programs don't run.. ?

It's an emulator, so you can runstop/restore by pressing esc & F8. Then sys 64738 to reset

Obviously, if you're on low hz you'll need to hold the keys down for the interupt signal to register though :)

Managed to get up to 129 kHz and 1M pix/s by leaving it running in the background while I did other shit. By that time it had become clear that my laptop is far too slow to run a C64 emulation in javascript at more than 1/10th actual speed.

Honestly this would be way more fun without the 'clicky game' mechanic. Just give me a logarithmic 'speed' slider that starts at 1 Hz and goes all the way up that I can adjust at will.

Got to 220khz or so and realized that it actually emulates c64, at least on some level =)

No, it really wouldn't - the clicky game is the whole point. That's like saying "marathon running would be much more fun if everyone just took the bus instead".

coul not resist not to trigger 1000 clicks using jQuery

Unfortunately it locks up for me (even with 1 frame update per second) once I get to about 1/3rd of a real C64 speed. Oh well, was intriguing.

There's not much to see after a few "upgrades". There's this demo to load but that's about it.
