Karsten Obarski Amiga Samples MOD Song Compo

category: music [glöplog]
Oh, just a couple of questions: is that Protracker 4.0 beta fully backward-compatible with 2.3d combos of special effects - notably when using the sample 00 trick? Or would you recommend 2.3b instead? I never used the 4.0 and if the FX codes are slightly different it could be a huge letdown (especially if i have to use it and learn again everything from scratch with my old crippled mind). So are you open to play the modules on the version of PTK of my own choice (likely 2.3d)?

Why do you wanna use ProTracker 4.0 beta? It is a buggy and unfinished version.
Stick to 2.3D or, if you want, to 3.x versions.

Yeah that FSCKING alt-F4 in WinUAE made me ditch whole WinUAE the last time I tried to make a module with it. Better to use http://www.16-bits.org/pt.php

If Karsten Obarski himself enters the compo, can he use any samples he likes then?

If Karsten Obarski himself enters the compo, he would instantly win. Even if Chuck Norris would have an entry.

What software did you use for playing the modules? Many of them had weird glitches that are most certainly playback errors.

sry for not participating :/
when I first saw this thread I felt inspired to make this sketch: amiga_mod_idea-22Feb2015.mp3
Wanted to turn it into an actual mod but somehow I did not
(it's not much but hey, at least sth)

I like the idea of this thread. It should be an annual thing ;)

maybe if we can get more people interested, we could repeat it, probably the uprough guys would help out? and other retro-amiga-sound-fans?

@yzi
used protracker 2.3d and indeed there are weird glitches in a mod i submitted

@TMB & ReeBoK
Is there any rules for participants (submitters), regarding the fact that they can vote for themselves or not? I would objectively vote for someone else, but if everyone votes subjectively for his own mod(s) i clearly don't stand a chance hehe.
