Assembly 2015

category: parties [glöplog]
No thread yet? Let's start one then.

Looks like the democompetition will be broadcasted live on the Finnish national tv, that's some outreach.
Also compostudio if I remember right

also, whatever happened to the assembly games competition - they used to publish them a week before the event. Is it still on?!

Regarding the game compo, site says "We will publish all the entries on 27th July."

And the timetable is pretty broken indeed... would like to know some info about the seminars especially.

I'll be there. Probably will do a quick compofiller (started tinkering with one during the weekend) but nothing major. I'm actually in the compocrew again this year, so the Trilobit takeover of the 'crew is mostly complete. ;)

Does anyone know answers to these:
1. What is the deadline for 4k? I assume it is the "Group compo deadline" Friday, 23:00, but it would be unfortunate if that assumption turns out to be wrong.
2. Remote submission requires buying tickets, but last time I went to Assembly, there were no way to pay for tickets remotely. How does that conundrum get solved?

Submit as soon as you have something final-ish. You can update up to 1h before the compo jury which is on Saturday at 11AM ( 10AM CEST )

ah pouet has awaken for ass-mbly.

Navis: sorry for late publish of gamedev's (and for mess after we found several entries pre-released)

provod: 1) yes. group deadline is deadline for 4K, 2) you should be able to buy tickets from Ticket-store. Still time to request oldskool-status. (old accounts wiped, sorry!)

We'll take a look at schedule bugs, new CMS brings always funny things to handle..

so when is the demo deadline then. What does "group deadline" mean anyway?
added on the 2015-07-27 19:07:24 by Navis Navis
(demo deadline used to be Saturday morning if I remember correctly)

Group deadline means all competitions (usually) attended by groups. By this we mean most of realtime-category. Demo is included here.

(saturday morning deadline you remember, is update deadline, just before jury)

ok thanks.

I now have this vivid memory of Fairlight appearing in the dead of the night on Friday (or was it Saturday), waking up some poor bastards at the infodesk to submit and "test" their prod. Then leave without a trace like a boss... :-)

p01: that's basically the plan.
spiikki: thanks! Did request Oldskool-status.

Cross-posting also here:

Hi all,

as we are broadcasting the ASSEMBLY demo compo live on national TV, we have to start the compo immediately after the Counter-Strike final ends. This means that the actual starting time of the demo compo is uncertain.

The CS:GO finals will start on Saturday at 21:00. The final may take an hour, two hours, 2.5 hour, 3 hour or 3.5 hours. After the final ends we'll have a 10 minute technical break and the demo compo will then start immediately.

As I know many of you will be at Boozembly, I'm looking for a (mostly) sober volunteer who will be at Boozembly and has a loud voice. We'll call you to let everyone at Boozembly know when to head indoors to watch the compo. So if you are going to hang out at Boozembly and want to help make sure no one misses the demo compo, please email me directly at abyss AT assembly DOT org.

Anyway, apologies for the hassle and see you at Boozembly tonight.
