Hi, what's the procedure for getting 8mb of memory into a Gravis Ultrasound Max?

How did you even get to 8MB?
GF1 based UltraSound cards are capped at 1MB.

Probably GUS P&P? Interwave supports 8 MB.

+1 with Scali. I had a GUS Pnp years ago and this board has 2 SIMM memory slots for 8 Mb max. Gus Max only supports 1 Mb max.

Are there demos which support GUS PnP and actually use more than 1 MB of GUS sample memory?

yzi: I think any production which uses In... I can't recall a name. Inopia Sound System? Indoor Sound System?-player and has big enough XM file. Would need to look at my RetroPCs HDD :)

yep. afaik latest versions of MIDAS (sux :) and Indoor Music System support Interwave in native mode, and some demos used modules with >1mb samples

InterWave supports up to 16MB RAM/ROM btw.
16MB RAM can be archived by either soldering 2 additional SIMM banks on the solder side of the GUS PnP, using a special SIMM -> EDO adapter or wait for my project to finish.
16MB ROM never was used tho, needs special drivers and the ROM-generator might be broken.
