There've been some pub meets lately and there's lots of conjecture about a party (one #ukscene on ircnet and the forums at http://www.ellesdee.org/), but nothing definite yet.
However there WILL be one in Exeter, I understand. The folks putting it on are going to Breakpoint - more news to come. Expect it to be small. Expect it to not matter, what matters is that it will be a party and there is interest again.

That's this year. Stay tuned.

(And come to our next pubmeet.)
or ryanair.

there's the pub meet in london (next one is sometime around the end of feb - check www.noogz.or/~ukscene or www.ellesdee.org (go to the forum, the thread is under uk scene / general) or alternatively wait for the invitro (coming in the next week or 2 i expect).

I'm trying to get together a pub meeting in the north (probably manchester) in the next month or 2, if there's enough interest.

And as truck said, there are some plans afoot for a smallish party in the south sometime soonish.

Are here only PC-losers and Amiga-fanatics?

It's a demo party! In the UK! For the Spectrum!

You should read the zxdemo.org party calendar more often. Even Breakpoint is linked there. \o/
Fack! I ain't allowed into pubs after the infamous toilet incidents - kicking guys into the urinals as they're having a piss.

Funny, but not socially acceptable.
the story i was told about the toilet incidents was that the bartender got pissed (no pun intended) because you drank from the toilet all the time instead of buying drinks..

Sir Garbagetruck (or any other UK person): How far is the drive from heathrow to newcastle?

not far at all with the virgin train, which is really fast and smooth. five hours or something i would guess. 460 kilometres according to the AA route planner.

EP answer to dipswitch :

1/ for narrow band internet access : for 56Kb modems and less
2/ for DSL / Cable / Broadband access

Please note they are different versions regarding GFX : low-speed is lower quality, but faster to download for 56 Kb modems.
