Revision 2026 - The Power Within - April 3rd to 6th 2026

Maybe preselection is something to consider if there are "too many". Then the ones not shown can be saved for parties following Revision. Probably plenty of smaller parties that would appreciate more demo entries.

Honestly, if someone paid for a ticket (maybe even flew in from another country) just to to participate in the compo, it’d really suck to have their entry disqualified simply because the organizers thought it wasn’t good enough. Not exactly great motivation for beginners.
Would it suck? Yes (I‘ve been there). But after all, it’s a competition. Submitting your prod doesn’t automatically grant you the right to be shown on the big screen.

Exactly, it’s a competition. Preselection isn’t really a competition.
Actually, no real problem here, as gaspode already said. There were more than 20 demos only in 2023.
If only...
1. No party invitations in demo compos please. We'll see your slide enough time already.
2. Move everything Amiga to Saturday.
3. Start Sunday concert AFTER all compo blocks.
4. Respect your audience. Generally nobody gives a flying f*k about your 2-day-partyplace-coded compo filler.
5. Re-run last 10-15 pc demos on Monday morning.
6. Start early with compo blocks. Plan demo compo for 5pm, we'll get it 10pm with usual delays.
7. Shuffle demos differently - potential compo winner could be shown first, tenth or last - you never know so watch the whole show.
Food for thought :)

Hey everyone! Revision ticket presales have begun, and you can get yours here. And if you have the means to get a supporter ticket, it would really make a difference this year! Plus, you get a different supporter-only t-shirt design which lets other people know how awesome you are.
Also, we have some helpful information about local hotels where you can stay, and how to book the campervan spots.

Why is preselection so impossible in a democompo, when it happens in music competitions all the time?

As a sofascener, I've just given up on the Revision main compo block the last couple of years because it's so long (and yes, 20 PC demos plus a double-digit number of Amiga demos plus whatever else is in that compo block goes as “long” for me). I go to bed when I go to bed, it's not worth it to sit through 15 demos to get to the five that actually entertain me. Whether that is a “real problem” or not is up for someone else to decide; it's not like I am giving Revision significant amounts of money or something.
I think it's an important experience to see your work on the bigscreen and get live reactions, especially for newcomers. So I would consider this more important than the wish to see only the top stuff in the compo.
However, I would support to find a way to make the last compos start earlier somehow. But AFAIK this was discussed earlier and because Revision is packed with compos there’s not much, there isn't much room for maneuver.

And because there’s still no option to edit posts:
»But AFAIK this was discussed earlier and because Revision is packed with compos […] there isn't much room for maneuver.
