i mean, whats the fucking point?
the man spends like 1 month doing a comeback, codes the best 4k, demo and 64k of the party, for the only demoparty on his country.

the 4k gets disqualified couz only the debug version runs on the compo machine (which is bigger then the size limit allows).

the demo gets 2nd place couz ppl do the newbie support votes to the other crew doing a decent demo..

and the 64k gets co 2nd place and only thumbs up from friends.

i mean, whats the fucking point on coming back to the scene? more of this bullshit?

isn't it quite normal? a 4k intro should run on the compo mashine, thats the least it should do. else everone could come and do smth bigger than 4 and then do some broken file and pretend that the real 4k just doesnt work on the compo machine and they should run the non-4k version.



well, one could complain as well from the standpoint of the newbies "oh, bah, they voted us 2nd place because of comeback-sympathyvotes" if it was otherwise.

i mean, sure, it's a hard swallow for the guy, and probably for you too since you are probably friends, but for me and the majority of others this is nothing extraordinary cruel. there are far worse examples of comebacks which broke on ignorants, see the silents pc comeback 2001-2002. now THIS is something to possibly mourn about.

and also it's quite laughable to speak about a "comeback" after what, 1 year of inactivity?

sorry if my words seem harsh, but imho the whole affair is no tragedy.

its not the cruelty of the moral winner position that disturbs me. its the fact that ppl judge the prods as useless efforts. it's alot more demoralizing than the partyplacings. where the fuck is the random scener support? "its too big to download, it has whiteparts on my gfx card" where the fuck are the "keep trying"? where the fuck, on his whole list of prods are any constructive criticisms? and if ppl aint dumping them on pouet reviews they sure didnt email it to him.

the scene always been more about doing the helicopter trick than valueing each others' work. you're making it seem like you only found that out now :)

I just watched the 64k, it is quite good... the 4k is not so good ;(

lupin: i go throught the prods pages and its depressive. not only is it depressive its totally understandable that the guy wouldnt give a fuck doing any more demos ever again.

unfortunatly most of you wankers dont have to worry about things like that, having to pull ppl into beeing active in your country. so you just shit at other ppls works and take their passion for the demoscene for granted.

Dude. scene != pouet. Do not put this much weight into pouet comments. It's not quite the constructive criticism you usually get here....

agreed. demoparties are a better spot to get nuanced reactions on your work rather than pouet that partly turned into some groupthink-mentality and for the other part, totally unserious. So yeah, coma is right with not putting too much weight in what ppl say here.
