i'm already loking fo4ward to read it... especially the capitalism article by filipe sounds promising... but freeze, could you perhaps already point to some decent dc emulator so people get it tuned before the mag comes out? =)

dipswitch: Dunno if scenedicate runs on a Dreamcast emulator. Since there is only one out, you can try it right away if it works on your PC. ;)

Font, yes. But the graphics look really great!

We decided to have a bigger font spacing because you normally read it on a TV screen, and you need a larger and more clean font than on a monitor, since you sit away a few more steps.

It's okay to read as you can see on the screenshot of an article:

When you've read issue 1 and still unhappy with it, we can change it for number 2. This will be most likely least for more than just a few issues. ;)

remove both the top and bottom lines.

freeze, well still mono spacing a font that's not mono at all doesn't look nice especially if you clip some letters and move some vertically to make them fit!!

yeah, that font looks bloody terrible..
the font is fugly.

freeze: the spacing is uneven - just look at the difference between "inm" and "liii"

the font rendering engine doesn't seem to understand what a descender is, either (look at the g's) - just needs some tweaking, should be fine with a bit of work. Won't destroy the mag if it's not there but it will get serious amounts of complaints (:

I think we had these same problems on a particular demo we did in Rabid Moose, but it had some other font issues (mainly a speed problem (: ) If you used the gl font thingage to create that font from a ttf font (which is what we did) then you prolly want to get a different font, or twiddle it so the descenders are right and introduce proper widths for the i, w, m, !, and so on... if you really intend to use a fixed spaced font, well, start with one (:

And yes, looking forward to it...
looking forward to it too just do some fixes on the font rendering engine and choose better font color with a small font size. then i will just say perfect.

Okay guys. We improve the spacing of the font but can't change the size because you have to keep in mind that's a console diskmag and you have to read it on a TV screen. That means there's more distance between the screen and yourself. Trust me, you almost can't read it if it would be smaller. :)

i thought changing things was impossible now? :/

freeze, nobody was complaining about the size, really :)

hzalep:
For the magazine version, it is. For the internet download version, well... yeah, normally it is too. But since quite a lot people asked for changing the spacing, we're on it.

skrebbel:
Oh sorry, my penis issues haunt me. :(
