- JS1k 2015 is ON! \0/
You have until 1st of March to submit a JS1k entry.
See the rules.
Now go and make a tiny demo about it. - isokadded on the 2015-02-05 16:51:46

- Baudsurfer: You have to understand 2 things:
1. I don't really care about this "world record".
2. Oscar Toledo has been writing tiny chess programs for yeaaaars and knows what he's doing. Surely he doesn't need you, and we don't need your nasty insinuations.
Discussion over. - isokadded on the 2015-01-31 09:12:35

- Check mate! We have a NEW WORLD RECORD at 481 bytes.
And voilà. Oscar Toledo, author of many tiny chess programs, including the JS1k chess, made one similar to BootChess, in 481 bytes that he called AtomChess.
Your turn ;) - isokadded on the 2015-01-30 21:42:02

- tomaes: Thanks. Yes, the trees and other particles are drawn from left to right with a hint of top-down order. They should be drawn from top to bottom.
My daughter also complained that she couldn't hear the train :p
juice: Actually these two things are performance optimizations, along with the way things are drawn in the main loop ;)
Basically any API, that's supported in both Firefox and Chrome ( & friends ) and doesn't give access to external ( as in online or from the local file system ) resources is in!
This means AudioContext, webGL, webCam & microphone, webWorkers, ... are in. What's definitely out is XHR, fileAPI, webRTC, ... and things like cookies and localStorage are most likely out of question as they can too easily leak to other entries on js1k.com - isokadded on the 2015-01-30 10:50:59

- THANKS everyone.
Hope some of you will try to do something for JS1k.
Sorry about the long delay before the JS1k logo zooms out to show the little scene behind. I must have over-compensated for the time-stretching induced by watching this invit a hundred times.
mog, rez: Somehow I knew you two would like the visuals :)
juice: Size wasn't a problem with this prod. Heck, the JS1k logo thing was a late addition to build up the prod and burn ~200 bytes.
performance.now() ensures the prod runs at the same speed everywhere. Also I used requestAnimationFrame(u) which is more verbose but more mobile friendly than a setInterval(u,15).
About the rules and deadline. The rules of JS1k haven't changed much since 2010. The shim should be pretty similar too. As for the deadline, I think the organizer said JS1k 2015 will run for one month. - isokadded on the 2015-01-29 16:07:29
