- demo MacOSX PPC MacOSX Intel Numbers [party remix]
- Oh, it's leopard only. I should mention that before people start complaining :) It should work on anything with leopard and a reasonable gpu, i'll test it though.

- demo MacOSX PPC MacOSX Intel Numbers [party remix]
- This was fast made mostly at the party place. It's a remix of Numbers, which is half done and will probably get released later. (Numbers is a 10 minute long noise demo, I figured it wasn't so party friendly ;)
It's based on the 'numbers broadcasts', which i'll explain the easy by copy + paste from wikipedia:
"Numbers stations are shortwave radio stations of uncertain origin. They generally broadcast artificially generated voices reading streams of numbers, words, letters (sometimes using a spelling alphabet), tunes or Morse code. They are in a wide variety of languages and the voices are usually women's, though sometimes men's or children's voices are used.
Evidence supports popular assumptions that the broadcasts are used to send messages to spies. This usage has not been publicly acknowledged by any government that may operate a numbers station."
This is a post-party version - the compo version had a nasty bug that screwed up some effects and killed the noise effects, so it just looked glitchy :/
It's in .mov format, but it's realtime - i.e. the .mov file contains the demo and data (a dirty hack possible because I made it with quartz composer). Sorry, xcode wouldn't compile anything on this old g4, I'll do proper binaries in a week or two. No idea how it runs on modern hardware, it's slow but just about watchable on this mac.
The .mov will NOT run on windows because it needs the quartz framework. I'll upload a 'proper' video when I get home.

- I thought it was pretty impressive, but not so great as a demo at first. But having watched again with the lights off and the volume up, it's seriously good on all levels! Definitely one that should be watched in the right settings.

- wtf?! I just watched the osx port, and it looked nothing like the screenshot. It had an awesomely weird acid style palette.. now I want to see the original to see which is better :D
