- demo Windows C.l.o.n.e by Critical Mass
- Poser models again? Sigh.. Impressive otherwise, a bit weird/creepy maybe.. I don't remember seeing this in the compo jury, but yeah, I guess it should've been shown anyway. 6th place sounds about right to me. Will consider thumbing it up when I watch it at home.

- demo Windows Liquid... Wen? by Haujobb
- What Spin said, basically. Watching this on the jury, during the first part, I thought yeah, the usual hjb, top 5 I guess. Then part two played, and kept going and going.. and was just.. beautiful. I felt a lot of emotion and knew it could win. Multipart demos are not a crime! Vic still owns me. The design may still be their regular formula, but dammit it _works_. Hope you enjoy your Rob Hubbard autographed C64, guys. :) Glad you only faked your death.

- demo Linux Windows Chimera by Halcyon
- Allright, I watched it, and allright, I think we did see it in the jury, and it obviously wasn't picked. So we're a bunch of evil bastards, hey, it happens :). It's.. interesting, maybe thought provoking toward the end, but it's really not big screen/big compo material. At least you can download it and watch it yourself, and that's what counts. Like others have said, much of the praise comes from the group name alone - though the music from croaker is rather nice. Oh, and if you have ADD, don't watch this demo. It moves verrry slooowly. :)

- 4k Windows nafta by tAAt [web]
- Hah, the tAAt guys are sitting next to me right now so I can't diss it too much :P. But I'm guessing selfvoting helped get this to 2nd place quite a bit. Nothing special.

- demo Linux Windows Chimera by Halcyon
- >because the jury doesn't understand art this didn't show up in the compo.
>you be the jury.
Um, no, I was on the jury. It didn't show up in the compo because it never made it to the jury to begin with. Now if it was entered on time and the main demo organizer deleted it before I got a chance to see it, then my bad.
I haven't seen it yet, but to date, there's no Halcyon demo I wouldn't want to see in compo. The scene needs to get a little less paranoid.

- diskmag Windows PAiN #51 (07/02) by Pain Staff [web]
- Good mag. I had the music on loop even when I wasn't reading it! Good articles, and lots of demo and party reviews (note to Hugi: you need more new-release reviews!). I wish there were more interviews of PC groups/sceners. At least there weren't (as many) "Amiga rulez, PC suxx!" articles in a PC mag this time. :) The "jobs" article was a funny diversion. The sound effects are a bit loud compared to the music. The load pic was nice; the title pic was a bit cheezy, but not gratuitous or offensive or anything.
(and guys, if you need more votes, just ask for them on ojuice when you're about to release a new issue! People like me are gonna forget otherwise)
P.S. to seannyb: "but I'm stuck in the US" is no f**king excuse. - rulezadded on the 2002-07-21 04:12:54
- invitation Linux Windows Amiga AGA Commodore 64 Oric XBOX 360 Assembly 2002 invitation intro by Complex [web] & Carillon & Cyberiad [web] & Dekadence [web]
- Nine fingers, anyone? Cute. I think it's just a case of suomiskeners thumbing up their buddies (um.. in a manner of speaking ;) ). Cool to see a multi-platform release (and an invtro at all, for that matter).

- 64k Windows TestRun by Digital Dynamite [web]
- Well, a nice bunch of "real-world" 3d models for 64k. They managed to make scenes like those in full-size demos such as Spot and Kasparov. But as we learned from Adrenaline, 3d modelling alone doth not make a demo. Camera movements are slow, design is nonexistent, and music is stagnant and uninspiring (tho it reminds me a bit of the music from Purple's "Public Demand" intro).

- demo MS-Dos hex appeal by Cascada
- Oops, ignore the screenshot. Hopefully it can be removed once the admin comes to life.
Not too many parts, but the zoom-rot cube and slimy end-scroller are cool. Good, laid back music too. - isokadded on the 2002-07-11 19:24:22
