- moozooh: Very nice comment. I totally agree to some of them. It's really interesting to hear how people respond to the different parts of the production: My favorite parts are actually the calm organic ones in the middle. They're boring for most people, but for some reason I see something in them. That's also the reason why I didn't dare to touch them for final tweaks. Sadly, however, building up a destructive energy that the music demands at the end was harder than I thought.
I really like you comment of the city looking like an uncanny valley. It probably sounds like a cheap excuse, but this was actually what I was trying to achieve: A dream-like scenario were things just don't work out if you look closely. Obviously, making the city much more realistic would have been beyond my current abilities, but I'm a big fan of using a limitation as an opportunity. For me, making demos is not necessarily thriving for the best technical or realistic solution, but stopping at the right moment:
Designer: "Hey, that looks cool!"
Coder: "But it's a bug!"
Designer: "I don't care. Let's tweak the colors."
Coder: "Aaaaahh". - isokadded on the 2012-10-06 14:55:47

- Wow. What a stunning feedback. I'm completely puzzled, given that "Uncovering Static" does actually a better job in almost any aspect in a fraction of the size. So, Smash, next time just add more lens flares.
But seriously, thanks for all the positive feedback!
Regarding the music: Obviously this is a completely subjective matter of taste. We had many discussions about it and W&B suggested countless other (awesome) tracks. For me however, when I heard it for the first time it just made *click* and I never could let got. Completely irrational. But the whole demo is build around that soundtrack. If you don't raggae, that's just fine with me. But you, for the same reason, just state "the track sucks", go f**k yourself.
Regarding the colors: Some credits should go to nero as well.
@preacher, unc,pandr,gloom,mrdoob,rez and all the others: Thanks. This means a lot to me :-)
@psonice: ROFL. Luckily there wasn't a second entry in the demo competition.
@magic: Since there was only one entry each, no voting was necessary.
@front243: The framerate is slow on my machine as well. And it's new.
@norecess: I hope not.
@maytz: What I hate about the whole fractal stuff are the artifacts. But on the other hand, what I love are the artifacts. For me that later won :-)
@devistator: Actually I spent a couple hours transcribing (or guessing) it: Here is an "official" version http://www.jah-lyrics.com/index.php?songid=3942
@lord graga: Sorry for using already released stuff. I mean it.
@anni: Actually, I like the off-sync of the youtube upload. Would it be be too much of artificial freedom to ask for the pouet-youtube link to be changed back to the one I posted?
@salinga: The people at GCD actually seemed to like it a lot. And then again, we had to get rid off this debt for the crate of beer.
@sq: Thanks. But no.
@marsel84, cherri kandler: Actually, I like constructive negative critique more than "fucking great!" thumb ups. But frankly, I'm almost tempted to talk people into deleting your account. I guess I can handle bad feedback pretty well. But you're actually hurting people that contribute more to the scene, than you cause damage. In other words: a lot. (Sorry mom, I fed the trolls.)
@smash: Wow! What an honor. (Are you drunk again?)
@kuzma: Completely agree: The original Square is one of my all time favorites. We went into a title crisis and I didn't thought it through.
@ryg: Hey, that was the whole point...
@irwin: True, some scenes could need some polish and details.
@v3nom: It would be a different demo. But I might make a remix to give it a try.
@ferris: cute. I though spelling mistakes are my job.
@uncle-x: wow, I feel honored.
@las: More precise please! I want to hear more.
@mikedafunk: hahaha. But I wonder what Fiver2 and Chaos are doing nowadays.
@zoom: thanks. Really sorry to miss Function. Would have been a great location to release it. Lesson learned: don't drink and make promisses.
@stijn: nice to hear it the other way around.

- @mad: sorry for making it even worse. Maybe I should not have mentioned any names. :-/ I meant EVERYBODY with a weird fragment. Believe me: I liked all of the entries and I pride myself in being pretty unpolitical. I spent some time looking for nice sections for all of the demos but fucked up converting the timestamps. So, sorry to everybody who wants to hear it.

- Thanks for the great feedback. Indeed the whole thing is running in realtime, but with all the video-textures the file size got a little out of control, so we decided against releasing an executable.
Once again I want to apologize to all the nominees that got a weird video-extract (esp. gloom and the team from batman). There was a bug that picked random times for some entries, what made some people wonder and me want to disappear.
@p01: yes, this would have been nice. But production time was extremely tight. The complete syncing and lighting was done in the 2 days before the show.
@gargaj: completely agree. The center-part should have been a minute shorter or so. - isokadded on the 2012-08-15 12:45:14
