• DX = CS on startup, so, DX means a somewhat arbitrary vertical offset for the pixel set routine. This overflows anyway (because we span the segment with bithopping through CX), but CWD makes it look equal on all machines (sets DX to 0). Actually it looks better ( more symetrical) without CWD on the current DosBox ;)
