- I can't say I understand the unequivocal praise of this documentary. Leaving aside the heavy Hungarian focus (at times it feels much more like a documentary about the Hungarian demoscene than the demoscene) and the disturbing accent in the voiceovers (I've only seen the English version, linked from the YouTube link here), a lot of this is just not very well done.
In particular, the camera work is straight-up poor at times; someone thought it would be really cool to zoom randomly in and out during interviews. What the heck? Lighting and exposure is often poor; OK, that's maybe because people are interviewed in random places. A lot of the shots are shaky; that's just bad planning (if you're making a documentary, bring a tripod). People are introduced way out of order, often talking a lot before there's a name on the screen.
There are good things too, of course: The demos shown are well captured and is a varied selection, and the color work, although a bit bland, seems to be pretty consistent throughout the documentary. Also, naturally, creating 90 minutes of video is a huge amount of work. But for me, as a documentary this doesn't warrant more than a piggie; there are too many obvious weaknesses in the craftsmanship. - isokadded on the 2014-08-16 15:55:51

- Impressive as always. I agree that the use of the extruded letters to make the boat isn't the prettiest choice, but hey, it's 4k. :-)

- I tried posting an empty comment with a thumb, but Pouët said “Not too meaningful, is it…”. I pass this comment on.

- Plus: Nice code. Minus: Colors seem to be borrowed from Darklite's puke.

- demo Windows Clichés
- It is indeed a bunch of clichés (you get exactly what's on the tin!). I can see the humor, and most of them are well done (which I suppose is part of the irony), but the colorscheme is at times hideous, and the pacing is very slow.

- Great 64k, and nice as an invite, too.

- 4k Windows dismantlement by BluFlame [web]
- Had nicer bubbles than the bubble demo. I don't care all that much for the factory scene, though.

- 64k Windows fr-076: The four elements by Farbrausch [web]
- I think this is a bit weird. It starts off nicely, and then sort of takes a bit of a pause to show the title, and then build up… build up… until it switches to the ugliest volcano (?) scene ever, and then boom, it's done. So overall impressive (especially for a one-man-show), but I think the overall direction is a bit lacking.
