- demo MS-Dos Windows Sleepless by Smash Designs [web]
- Erm, I finally have to admit that this demo rocks. :) My first reaction after seeing this was quite similar to robotroit's; Not-that-great models, typical euro-dance soundtrack, plus a more or less pointless (and kitschy ;)) story.
BUT, after seeing it for a second time, I noticed that everything fits together very well, the music makes your body move (erm) and the transitions are great.
Still, the loading breaks are annoying (they break the flow of the demo) and the models look a little bit crappy, but hey... simply put: Cool. :) - rulezadded on the 2001-11-24 15:14:08
- demo Commodore 64 Art Bizzare by Haujobb
- Well, I don't think that there is any need to scan the memory just to know that this one is done by Smash Designs. Look at the GFX, see the effects... it's clearly AEG's style.
Having this in mind, the (fake) scroller is quite amusing, but the demo needs a proper ending. - isokadded on the 2001-11-23 15:14:14
- demo Commodore 64 Attack of Stubidos 3 by Beyond Force [web]
- "Attack of the vector objects" would be a much more suitable name I guess. :)
Very slow paced demo (in fact, the demo would be much better if they would not repeat every effect 3 times in a row) with good music. - isokadded on the 2001-11-23 12:30:34
- demo Commodore 64 The Unicorn by Abnormal
- Erm, this must be one of the first demos I really enjoyed.
The first 2 parts are not that special (although still great for 1989), but the final one is a real kicker. It's basically a battle part (topic: "who's the best coder in norway") with a short animated scene in which we can see how a guy (representing Abnormal) cuts the head of a lamer (representing trillion, another coder from norway). Nasty ;) - rulezadded on the 2001-11-22 17:10:44
- diskmag Windows WildMag #5 by WildMag Crew [web]
- Well, yes, some people still prefer writing articles in their native language. German language mags have a long tradition, both, commercial and scene-related. Cream, Blackmail, Suicide, Platinum, TAP.Mag, WildMag, the early Hugi (and later Huger.Ger) and many others. Many of them are as good as the known international mags, released in the same period, technically and text quality wise.
But some people are just a little ignorant and diss everything that they can't understand. But do I dislike Cooler, just because it's a russian mag, that I can't read? NO, of course not.
The "hidden parts in diskmags" article by Adok is in English, btw. :) - isokadded on the 2001-11-18 20:30:18
- demo MS-Dos Alto Knallo by Free Electric Band
- Well, at least the soundtrack rocked. But there were some annoying parts in it, so I made my own remix and deleted the original module. :)

- diskmag MS-Dos Blackmail #12 by Knockout
- Blackmail was one of the first (the first?) PC diskmags in German language, back in 1992. This is the last issue from 1996 including a terrible article viewer (you better open the DAT-file instead of trying to read it in the mag).

- diskmag Windows Rift #1
- The only (south) african disk magazine I know. :)
They used an old version of our WildMag interface coded by The Update.
More information about this mag (an the south african scene) here:

- diskmag MS-Dos Cream #1 by Obnoxious
- A well designed interface, a lot of articles from many contributers, good music too. An almost perfect diskmag.
The standard for German language diskmags, at least in 1996. The German imphobia I'd say. :) It influenced a lot of diskmag makers, including adok. ;) - rulezadded on the 2001-11-16 18:39:14
- demo Commodore 64 Speedway 1 by Panic
- I'm really not the typical "boooring" or "craaap"-shouter, but the whole speedway series is... well, crap. Not a glimpse of good code/design/music...
The last Assembly with good C64 demos was ASM'96. - sucksadded on the 2001-11-16 18:23:36
