  It's funny looking back at that, and I totally get where you were coming from. When I saw this had won, it was a huge surprise - I'd have expected it to come at the bottom end of the results. But, I would have voted for it if I'd been at the party, which explains why I was wrong :)
  
  Just consider though if you'd gone a little farther that way and not released the demo. The scene would have missed something good (major party winning good!) So I guess the lesson is that if you're doing something you believe in and you're not sure how people are going to react, go ahead and do it anyway, and find out :)

• From what I saw on the video, I doubt they used the images. It looked more like they'd recreated them in code, and animated the shapes.

  Wade: If they'd just cloned the pictures like people used to do with valejo and changed the signature to hide it, it would be ripping. If they'd been 'heavily inspired' by something and made it realtime like smash + slyspy did, they'd get some criticism for not making that clear but props for making it.
  
  They've not done that though. They've taken the artists work and totally brought it to life, while at the same time giving full credit for the original work.
