- 32k MS-Dos Ziraafh by Hirmu
- How could I have missed this before? One of the defining works of European art in the 2nd Millennium, "Ziraafh" pulses with an unconstrained visceral energy not unlike Hirmu's critically acclaimed opera "Muna".

- wild Animation/Video lackluster: 13/10/99 by Sunflower [web]
- I just installed divx 5 on my new(ish) machine and now the video has purple blocks popping up in all the keyframes - the overall effect looks sort of like a 1994 chaos zoomer. It's quite interesting but not exactly what I had in mind...
Is divx a stupid hack or is that just my prejudice? =) Anyway, it may take a while til I get around to making another attempt at divx - the video was made on a Mac (eek) so encoding divx is a bit convoluted. - isokadded on the 2002-03-08 13:03:52
- demo Linux Space Cadet by mfx [web]
- Care to port to Mac OS X so I could watch it too? X is a nicer Unix than Linux anyway ;)

- demo Windows itami_ by Throb [web] & the|neonray [web]
- people who play pedantic games with genre labels suck ;)
can you explain to me the contradiction that something is supposed to be experimental and original, yet it conforms to some tightly defined genre such as "powernoise"?
(I haven't seen this demo, and I can't claim to know what defines "powernoise", but I dislike art genres in general for the above stated reason...)

- wild Windows Stop Going Down by kolor [web] & Park Studios [web]
- I really like it too.
it's got a very fancy, sort of halcyonish (meaning halcyon the demogroup) design aesthetic - long shots of complex pseudo-organic 3d, it all seems to make sense as a visualization of symbiotic relationships in some alien ecosystem if only you had that one missing piece of information.
or something completely else :) - rulezadded on the 2001-11-07 01:12:28
- 64k Windows television blue by Headcrash [web]
- Hmm, err... This looks like a random collage of effects somebody wrote in Pascal in 1993. Except that it runs in hires and there's the odd bit of alpha blending and other accelerated gimmicks.. but even the music sounds like an average 93-94 intro :)
But I thought it's kind of cute anyway. For nostalgia at least... I can't believe they even had a spline wipe (or whatever those things were called) in there, it's been a looong time since I last saw one, not that I really missed it though :) - isokadded on the 2001-11-07 00:59:29
- demo MS-Dos Cardiac by Infiny
- Hmm, I thought this was released at tp3, not tp4?
Anyway, a nice (and long) demo at the time, quirky in a genuinely french way, partly due to the odd music by Moog and Shad if I remember correctly (Shad did the excellent music for the most excellent Square some years later).
The code was pretty good and had variety, and I think this demo introduced Barti, who of course went on to join NoooN and become the #1 coder in the pc scene :) - rulezadded on the 2001-11-01 16:50:20
- demo MS-Dos/gus religion by xtacy
- No comments yet? Well, I used to really dig this, it had a nice variation in the effects (less 3d-heavy than xtacy's later demos) and an energetic soundtrack - very nice effort for a first demo!
I think it went quite unnoticed when it was released, but of course xtacy got their fame a bit later :) - rulezadded on the 2001-09-29 11:39:42
- demo MS-Dos Windows Realtime Radiosity 2 by Broncs [web]
- how impressive! until this, the most complex coda I've seen in a demoscene production was a timelapse polytronic las-vegas final gathering powered by battery-energized laser-blasting elves over LAX-woods with nonsingularity smashing lacklusters and reagan extrapolation.

- demo MS-Dos 60BR W by Coma
- Beautiful ambient demo with a very slow but powerful track by Groo (if I remember correctly..)
anyway, one of my Coma classic favorites.
and of course features the classic fake truecolor (rgb lines) video mode that was all the rage in 1995, as shown in the screenshot :) - rulezadded on the 2001-09-10 14:01:05
