- Nice, but the music made this one. I'd like to have seen some more interesting visuals. Then again, I'm a gfx coder :D

- Well. Here's a bit of background on the last 2 days.
The creation of this intro was certainly appropriately chaotic. As usual we started work too late on the visuals. The result of this was that on Friday night we basically worked on the project file in shifts so some of us could get a bit of sleep in before the party, I went to bed at 7 am.
We knew that there was a lot of work to be done at the party, so I moved everything to my laptop, same build environment, same tool, same everything. The troubles started when the laptop produced executables that made kkrunchy crash with an assert. Debugging kkrunchy was no help, using a different version resulted in a 70k exe, and there was no time for reinstalling my whole laptop to see if that fixes things. We went with the only available solution:
"Let's set up a remote desktop on the only PC that can compile the intro. Oh wait, better yet, let's set up two separate ones just to be redundant."
I woke up on Saturday at about 11 am, talked to Zoom about the progress on Skype, packed the laptop and everything together, got my pack, started heading out when I realized I don't know the exact bus to take to get to the party place. Rushed back to the PC, started looking it up on google maps... And the Internet was gone.
Turns out that just a couple minutes earlier a local system error occurred at my ISP, and they only had a rough idea that "the fix may be available before 18:00"... 2 hours after the compo deadline (not that we were too concerned with the deadline ;)). So a plan was formulated to finish the intro at the party, get a taxi, compile it at home (and do additional fixes if the size was over 64k), and then get another taxi back to the party place.
Needless to say, the whole experience was a bit stressful, with the added fact that we wanted the intro to be a secret and there was no real privacy at the party place. We couldn't do any size checks without kkrunchy, and the whole thing was done in quite a rush, with a tool that had some display issues on top of all of this.
Luckily the internet at home came back, and we just barely fit into 64k.
However during all that rushing we deactivated some of the shadows to counteract the display issues in the tool, which we of course forgot to turn back on in the end.
Just for the shadows alone we'll probably do a final after we rested a bit. - isokadded on the 2016-09-11 18:41:44
