a great example on why concept is important.
or why concept is boring.
the concept here I think was, "we have 3 routines and a song, let's combine them into one scene that we stretch out for the duration of the song". I guess that's just not my cup of murky ribbon soup. - sucksadded on the 2015-01-25 19:42:26
- demo JavaScript My god, it's full of sinus!
- awsm: welcome to Pouet :) and grats on your first release (I think?)
I don't know you and no, I haven't read the entire scrolltexts to check, but it seems credits are missing for the gfx and music. It's a demoscene thing, you just put a text file in the archive so that it's known that you have permission from authors for any material not made by you or other sceners involved in the project.
As for the guys asking you to "make a C64 demo then"... well: if you like C64 a lot you can make a Youtube clip. If you're a big fan you can make a JS demo. And if you're REALLY a fan you can go make a C64 demo about it. There have been quite a few retro-love releases already, so that if you love a certain platform you shouldn't avoid it by supporting other platforms but code for the platform "that you say you love so much". Something like that :)
As a JS demo it was good, not so sure as to the accuracy of palette and so on. And sometimes demos are about achievements, and there's no achievement in 1MHz effect running in JS on GHz CPUs. (No, I don't think there's a way to make a realistic retro homage demo on such CPUs and tick the achievement box. So who knows what is expected here.) - isokadded on the 2015-01-25 04:24:12
- musicdisk Amiga OCS/ECS Sounds of Gnome by Mahoney & Kaktus & Northstar
- Motion: yep, funny :) borrowed from Dragnet (the movie). C D D# C F#
This was released after a party I attended at end of May where Gluemaster was making tunes and a bunch of us were writing scrolltexts, so actually the release date in the scroll isn't correct either ;)
Good times and a nice musicdisk with lots of little neat features to discover :) - rulezadded on the 2015-01-24 22:29:14
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Animotion by Phenomena
- Dan: You're probably right :) And thanks for commenting, I hadn't thumbed up this old favorite of mine. It's so nice and enjoyable. :)
Nice guy Havoc pixeled the logo for us on a party in Sweden before this... memories! - rulezadded on the 2015-01-18 02:38:53
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS ice-cold coke by Phenomena
- Nice improvement of Vertical Insanity's HAM bars, with HAM bobs and a neat scroller effect (wait for it!) One of Mr. Gurk's best (if not THE best) with funky music by Danko :)
Fixed the link, this version should work now. Don't be miffed if you tried to get this working on real Amigas for years like I have, it was all the sites that had the non-working exe file. - rulezadded on the 2015-01-18 01:52:40

- musicdisk Atari STe 0913 by Live!
- I seriously un-dig the gender mixed up person with yellow skin graphic (what the...?), but some of the songs were excellent, like the one for the start into and the crunchy tribute to nothing!

- demotool Amiga AGA Amiga OCS/ECS The Player Playroutine P6111 by Scoopex [web] & Sahara Surfers
- P6112 fixes E1x/E2x. (One line changed in the GetNote macro.) And yes, I have still left the project. :) Was just so annoying when I found it.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Amigaluscious by Onslaught [web]
- You're off to a good start on Amiga :) But some things make it not enjoyable for me.
Presenting animations as effects is the opposite of what demos are about in my book, so it must be inverse thumb orientation. The porn clip itself is fine (well, I did not expect the butthole-staring-into-camera reveal but that was just funny to me :)) Credits are missing for the digitized music. Bad algo! - sucksadded on the 2015-01-10 01:26:25
- demotool Linux Windows Amiga AGA Amiga OCS/ECS MacOSX Intel Shrinkler by Loonies [web]
- Quite the opposite of my Nibbler, which was made for extremely fast decrunch speeds. Knowing you I also think Shrinkler will excel at smashing down 4Ks and 64Ks compared to any other cruncher! And Titanics-cruncher is still with us as crap-ratio, medium-slow, small overhead quickie execruncher to get partyprods out in a pinch. A choice for every situation :)
