- similar feelings as britelite, didn't really work for me. could've spent more time on the editing table

- always a delight to enjoy pure craftsmanship and dedication or tributes to sources of inspiration, but what i first and foremost enjoy about exercises like this is observing the ways in which have surpassed 20 year old offline rendering, and the ways in which we're still catching up :)

- the blood vessel over 20 years later still holds up extremely well, and is super impressive considering the age. some of the other more abstract visuals such as the refractions are still very pretty as well. a mixed bag but delightful in its own peculiar ways.

- demo JavaScript WUNDERLUST by Gray Marchers [web]
- far from the most inventive or forward thinking demo in recent times (or even in this very compo), but an enjoyable work to look at overall; lots of passion. while the music isn't to my taste really, you can really tell that this is directed by a musician who knows that they're doing :)
a lot of the editing is way too metric for my taste, but i just love that there's a clear understanding with the pace at which the camera is moved at different scenes, and in general how the cuts work (the first cut and camera angle of a new scene, the order in which new angles are presented, use of parallax, etc.). aside from the visual fidelity and appealing pop music, i believe it's largely these details that lead to the high success rates of Grey Marchers demos in the compos.
also what cce said. - rulezadded on the 2025-08-12 00:51:42

@noby sadly more or less all 3d assets are downloaded from the internet. AI art, downloaded assets and a commercial 3d engine. Not my cup of tea. But considering the high placement, this is what the scene wants.
well i was afraid of that obviously, but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt because i really did want to find at least something to appreciate here. but with that in mind i need to update my vote…
(i don't mind unreal too much though, but if you just want to use a third party rendering engine to display cool graphics, then at least make the damn graphics yourself) - sucksadded on the 2025-08-12 00:44:23
