A simply mind-blowing demo. The audio-visual experience is top quality as expected from this bunch. However, the most impressive thing is the tech. Raymarching of that quality with Pentium MMX is just unreal thing to do.

You can feel the sex... Mr. Sex ;).
Is 50 MB after unpacking a bit much?

This is like watching a modern C64 demo in 2026 - the hardware is the same as back in the day but this could never have been created in the platform's heyday. It's strictly modern and feels like an anachronism.

And just like modern anachronistic C64 demos, this is a certified banger. Absolutely mindblowing code here and the flow is relentless. I would kill to see the source code.

This was a lot of fun to watch, it was so good. How did the SDF raymarching stuff work? Is there some kind of streaming of prerendered data, maybe of a coarse grid of ray offsets to reduce the step count?

New (B) demo tech developed, demo content tested, synced and doing it again and again multiple times over during hasty 2 weeks before Assembly. While most of the team was also wasting their precious hours with the other project - Before Zero.

It's definitely a blast with too many things I need a rewatch to notice. However I am not certain if some parts especially after the middle are realtime or simply animations.

I need a pensionist version where I can stare at the details of those raymarching scenes.

The wait for a new (B) DOS prod since Shattered Minds ending with this one feels so very, very good. Thank you, good sirs.

absolutely rocks, boulders even. lots of very high quality fast-paced content.

but some of the scenes do seem to be way too impossible to be realtime on the hardware, so i highly suspect animation (especially given the quite large DEMO.PAK size). would love to read the explanation and a breakdown.

Great show! As mentioned earlier, some scenes likely contain pre-rendered animation, but I think there are plenty of real-time effects as well. In any case, it looks amazing.

I was also curious about this, so I wrote an extractor to dig through the data files. Here it is in case anyone else is curious: https://gist.github.com/jtsiomb/0d27dbf8993508902a2236a5b0006de0

why am i so much more impressed with this than i am with the notch demo ? :)

a solid show in the spirit mid90's orange demos, with a truly banger tune and slick realtime effects - like the particle physics chamber or monochrome/fakemode morphing balls.
raymarched scenes are undoubtfully animations, and some of them are so obvious they break the flow (protip: don't antialias them if you don't have AA in other effects :)

would be a thumb up for me had you not fucked up the design with the ill-suited C64 font and horrible credits graphics. sorry :(

Awesome! Great use of theme, good flow, coherent. This is what Fox Mulder would watch.
