I really liked some scenes, and the music was good, imho, but I didn't like the overuse of blur in some parts

The video is Awesome like the credits on the water, But what type of video card is required for this exe file?

A bit short, but very nice visuals anyway :)
rulez added on the 2005-04-18 09:36:54 by kohai kohai
very very nice start... loses some force as it goes on, but very good nonetheless
rulez added on the 2005-04-18 09:47:36 by Jcl Jcl
The bottom of the credits part doesn't appear here (r9800, maybe driver issue), the rest works.

+ nice music
- crappy colors
- crappy effects
- no design
Shouldn't have been ranked first.
sucks added on the 2005-04-18 10:39:25 by skarab skarab
I agree with scarab on every point except the music, which I though was crap.

I've seen MUCH better demos from Rgba and I've seen them run on much lower specs.
sucks added on the 2005-04-18 12:32:13 by Shanethewolf Shanethewolf
no ps2 no fun? :/ ough.. was a nice prod anyway, some visualize style on some parts, a mix of everything i have to say (as usual on rgba demos i think (3D realist scene to begin, abstract 3d stuff to continue)), the music was very cool this time :)

As a very bad bit.. the font used for the credits was awful guys :S
rulez added on the 2005-04-18 12:42:21 by mrdoob mrdoob
I saw no credits, and no ocean. This may have to do with this debuglog:

Error compiling shader shaders/oceano.frag
ERROR: 0:43: '/' : wrong operand types no operation '/' exists that takes a left-hand operand of type 'float' and a right operand of type 'const int' (or there is no acceptable conversion)
ERROR: 1 compilation errors. No code generated.

Still, it looked cool though. Next time, I suggest *not* using any Reason presets for the music, btw :)

Great music, great effects, great atmosphere. But it's way too short :(

hate music. didnt like the visuals, except some very nice postprocessing filters ??
added on the 2005-04-18 13:09:13 by quisten quisten
Sagacity, that's because nvidia somewhat allows automatic casting and ati doesn't 8). Well, that's a easy one to fix
added on the 2005-04-18 13:12:48 by reality3D reality3D
at least dont put a pwd on the .rar if your code is patchable ;D (I dont have the mood to crack it now :)

very nice prod

some nice scenes and ok music, but the lack of consistent design pulls this prod down
added on the 2005-04-18 19:58:40 by Duckers Duckers
Starts really really cool, too bad it doesn't manage to keep a constant level. Jewoll's music is among the best I've heard from him, nice improvement :)
Thumbs up for the first scene.

i had to watch the movie version :( i am sure it looks better in realtime...
rulez added on the 2005-04-18 22:11:56 by Lupin Lupin
Awesome. I really loved it, the form and symmetry/asymmetry was just incredible. I really enjoyed the largely abstract nature of it.

cool prod. superb music

pretty good demo - not a hammer but nice to watch it once or twice.
rulez added on the 2005-04-19 11:29:59 by ghandy ghandy
Really amazing effects! music is also very good, but the demo itself does not have very much conceptual design inside, imho. Anyway, thumbs up! :)

r3d, the pixel shader for the sea is incredible! my god!

gets cut just when the music starts to kick in :( so... sorry no up...

Kinda sort and not as good as I expected.
added on the 2005-04-20 11:42:50 by Optimus Optimus
hmm... start didn't impress me at all, and it ends way too soon, but the middle part was good. Also.. music was soooo loud, even though i have the windows volume turned down.. problem with my computer? or is it setting the volume to max while it runs?
added on the 2005-04-20 12:54:35 by psonice psonice
Too short! Good tune Jewoll, it's hard to develop some well built music in such a little time :)
Overall good impression, but expected more from RGBA guys.
Btw, did I see the multiple ring thing in "Toasted"? :P

First of all -- really nice music!

Like the abstract, stand-alone effects the most. Water effect was a bit too textured. Good sync with music.

Really nice music, good work Jewoll! Nice prod too but a bit overblurred in some scenes.
rulez added on the 2005-04-21 02:32:33 by KILE KILE
It was beautiful....

...and it worked. I had a radeon9800XT pro at my work, and the last 6 pc demo i tried (from various groups) didn't worked for a reason or another. (I don't fucking care what it was)

thanks RGBA !!!

too much blur

I could barely run the movie.. o_O The wet hippopotamus skin shader in the screen shot has a lot of potential. It just needs a farther horizon and a background that looks less like a trance compilation cover..

Loved the subway scene with the dof.

+ nice start
+ some good effects
~ ok music
- some ugly effects
- too short for 7Mb
added on the 2005-05-20 00:40:38 by knox knox
interesting metro start but all fall into the deep of unuseful 3d objects and ugly 2d logo and textures
music is ok, code seems interesting and there is interesting renderings but all of this is bad used with stupids 3d objects wich rotate in the center of the screen
too short, but it's not good, so it's enough ;)
Individual parts look really good, but ultimately this is nothing more than a hodge-podge of stuff. It ended without any sense of being.
i guess it was ok

this was nice! thanks for contributing to our party :)
Rulez, but way too short, and the constant blur on some scenes annoyed me.

well, nice, but nothing special.
it has a feel that a very similar looking demo could be done say 5-8 years ago.

well, I was truly amazed, and when you displayed the title, I thought I've seen only the beginning. :(
It's way too short, I think. But deserves the thumb up.

I hate to say it but I felt this prod was a bit bland. Technically quite well done but it didn't really move me that much. Not bad, but not anything extraordinary either.
