It's a demo written in brainfuck, so it's not really platform-dependent as long as the computer is fast enough.

On Linux it worked just by pressing "Enter/Return" key, not A.

Kudos for coding in such a minimal language! Your brain must hurt.

Thumb for the abuse of brainfuck, but surely the code is generated?
rulez added on the 2008-10-29 21:28:15 by evil evil
evil: as the readme says, the code mostly isn't generated (the text engine thing was partly generated by a script I made). The rest is completely written by hand.

What the fuck...

Here's a thumb. Just promise me that you will never do it again. I am sure that there are official international authorities who have elite striketeams in helicopters specialized in nutcases like you.

cba to install cygwin to see it, but getting anything like the screenshot out of bf deserves a thumb :-)

i'm leaning to give a motivational thumbdown: you should really waste your time for something more meaningful (iassumint that it is true that you really wrote the code by hand)

Thumb up for being the first doing this (and for ur patience! )

I already get the same idea several years before, but i was discouraged by the slowness of brainfuck (i dont know brainfuck could be easily optimized by a compiler, eg : ++++++ can be changed to +6 , you can store loops positions...)

also my idea was quite different :
use a 320x200 buffer, with each outputed character being a pixel...

(like in this prod : http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5060)

For people like me who have problems for running it correctly under XP I made an archive containing everything u need to run it + a little utility (made from buffer.exe) :

I discovered a bug in the tunnel effect; it failed to print the newlines quite correctly. I think I've fixed it properly now. The download link refers to the fixed version.

I also added the url to Tigrou's archive in the readme. Nice job, Tigrou :)

Thats amazing, that may be the best bf piece of code ever written

Awesomly crazy \o/

Pity it runs at 102x50, otherwise I would have tried on my bf interpreter for the C64 :)

I think this is the only demo we got right in the compos... first, show demo. Then, show source. Then show demo again.

To which those of us who knew what the fuck the source WAS went "holy... well maybe that's generated from something but fucking A it's still Brainfuck!"

The fact that it was written in Brainfuck itself is just massive.
brainfuck!
rulez added on the 2009-11-08 17:12:36 by svo svo
running it with cygwin with bfdemo and bfdemo|buffer trying several letters as input. runs well for me using small letters somewhere around f-m. Only thing I noticed is it doing some weird line jumps more or less all the time (window size is set to 100x51).

Still a big thumb up for writing a demo in such a language ! Pretty awesome !
