yeh, i think this is misplaced. however much everyone appreciates the effort put into this dvd - it isn't really a demo-release :-D

walter: ... GRRR I WAS HOPING TO BE ABLE TO LEECH (PARTS OF) THE DVD!
totally misplaced. what the fuck.

Umm, I HOPE that there's no download link :/ (tho apparently it hit the SVCD warez circuit, read here). Anyway, I appreciate the nice thumbs, but you shouldn't add commercial products to pouet. Besides, it should be "Volume 1: PC Demos" to distinguish it from future volumes.

If you have any cheers or jeers, you should visit the forum at Fusecon, or at least the BBS thread here.

this is a scene production so it deserves kudos. BIGTIME. move yo big booty, bitch.

Misplaced, yes.. but what the hell. Driving forces of the scene like Trixter, Phoenix & co deserves a thumb alone, I love this DVD and I sure hope for more like it in the (near?) future. Keep up the good work!

totally misplaced, this is no wild, we need a compilations section or something.

other than that, big respect to the makers of this, it's a damn good production (sure theres some tearing etc., but putting a 70hz demo onto a 60hz dvd is not an easy task, so i can forgive it easily enough). Besides that, it lets me see some demos i can't watch anymore without having a second old pc, and i've learned more about demos from listening to the commentaries too.

Lots of work went into this... I'm sure hoping Volume 2 comes out soon =)

Where can I download the full DVD? It's free to download, right? I mean demos are free aren't they?

Thumb down for false link.

Thank you for making this possible. Now I can annoy the hell out of my non-scener friends by showing them this..

Something terrible has happened. I lost my Mind Candy DVD. My mother was cleaning and,.. I think I had seen it later somewhere and said to myself "Put this in a safe place. You must not loose this!!!". And I have hidden this in such a secret place, even me I can't remember ;P

I have to reorder it again, for sure. DAMN!!!

f*#kings to all ppl moaning and bitching about this DVD..
cause this thingie preserves some of the old quality pc stuff for future generations.. and we all know that emulators won't do the job because of various reasons (f.e. analogue fx vs. digital emulation, unsupported screen modes, etc.etc.)..
and how cool is it to hear the comments of (some of) the original demo creators on the second track??!
*waiting for the second volume*

the dvd is ok, although its content disapointed me.
anyway, i don't understand why this DVD appears in the wild section

please read the definition of a wild production again
Very cool! But it doesn't belong here.

Shane: most of the contents are on Pouet, it's a great site, you should visit it some day ;)

Toxie: agreed, tho I liked the featurette even more :)

IANAL, but as far as I know in most countries collections and conversions of other work have a copyright by themselves, meaning that eventhough the demos on the mindcandy dvd are freely available that still doesn't mean you can just copy the collection itself. Besides, there is some extra work on the dvd itself which isn't available elsewhere.
rulez added on the 2005-09-04 16:40:28 by sparcus sparcus
cool dvd. maybe a bit misplaced here, though.
rulez added on the 2005-09-26 14:16:48 by red red
Ok as 10 million people constantly say some things don't belong here, I'll point out that this doesn't as it's a commercial work and belongs on blockbuster.com, not here.
yeah, but you didn't have to give it a thumbs down for that reason, now my feelings are hurt. ;(

and blockbuster can suck deez..

and whoever bothered to add all the "packed in" links was probably wasting their time since this shouldn't really be on here whatever.

I like it and have a copy obviously. Too bad that Megablast for example ain't complete... :P But I do agree with some other posters, it should be released for free as well as being available as a sleek pressed version, the content is all (c) by someone else anyway. Going to get vol2 as well.

I disagree, it's just a commercial demopack :D
A shame I can't find my copy, I might just buy a new one.
Someone should add volume 2 :)

commercial.
Might be good as a scene outreach effort, yet I doubt people outside the scene would buy this DVD.
