"a braindazzling puzzle and sorting game"
Works on Atari STFM/STE and Falcon with 1MB of RAM and up.
The game was made with GFABASIC and it offers STE enhancements (palette, DMA sound, Blitter, Jagpad)
Please read the "known bugs" section of the manual!
Too bad you don't spread in MSA or ST format so I can run it under SainT :-( ( Yes I know why not adding HD support in SainT :-))

Very nice little game!

Leonard is right, you should release it on a disk image, a lot of people here use an emu and have no clue how to use the Atari HD ;)

really cool !

No diskimage because I support people with real machines and I don't see a need to do a disk image for mere 100K of data.
Anyone who needs a disk image can do one himself with MSA Convertor. People who are too dumb to use hd emulation, well, I won't comment.
Afaik Brume made a MSA which is available from Atari Legend.
Blah MSA is nice too, don't forget that without emuls, you wouldn't have added STE specific stuff Sunny ;)

Btw here is an url for a msa version :

http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_detail.php?game_id=5494&PHPSESSID=aa1a259783b257f2162f963ea385de67

Don't forget ppl using emuls with no hd feature, or ppl with wreck hardware.

Sunnyboy: it's nice to support people with the actual machine but it's also nice to support people willing to discover Atari releases but who don't want to spend too much time figuring things out with an emulator.
A disk image would be the easiest way for them ;)

Nice game, looks and sounds very professional! It seems to be quite tough though, I'll have to spend more time on it :)
STS did a great job with the graphics, I especially like the colours!

Good initiative to skip the diskimage crap Sunny! But most of all, good to see a new nice game released, keep it up!

great little game! and btw,

HURRAY for file releases! you rule!
BOO for diskimages! you suck rhinodick!

(yes leonard, you really should add HD support to saint :-))

"Good initiative to skip the diskimage crap Sunny! But most of all, good to see a new nice game released, keep it up!"

*sigh* Do you REALLY think that more people will watch this on a real machine than on an emulator?
play, not watch, even.
so your point is that real hardware users should be forced to use some odd tool because emulator users do not care to rtfm?
added on the 2005-02-09 20:10:38 by havoc havoc
havoc : No, I understand the decision to release it as zipped files - to make is easier for people with real hardware. See keops' point. evil seems to want to make it harder for people without real hardware. That sounds like inbreeding to me.

As for the game, I liked it

ParaPete - I HATE to get a diskimage for something that doesn't need to be in a diskimage. So I congratulate Sunnyboys initiative. If some emulator is so bad that it can't run normal Atari programs, well it needs to be improved rather than the devleopers have to do workarounds.

If you actually took the time to read at the site of the developers, they tell you that the game works on this and that emulator as well as the real deal. Then if emulator X isn't up to snuff while emulator Y is - tough shit for emulator X.

If not diskimage then I can put it in HD and run it from Steem. I'd like to know a util or something to convert files into a diskimage, because sometimes I want to test some stuff in Saint too..

Ok, just read the rest. I will download that MSA tool. Also, I'd like (since a long) HD support in Saint too :]

pete, you don't think it would be possible that evil is just happy that he doesn't have to use some odd tool before he can run this game? on the platform it was intended for i may add...

you see, installing a hd in steem is as simple as clicking a few buttons and entering the name of a suitable subdir on your windows hd to put the atari files in. after that you can use any regular windows tools to manage the directory structure, unpack/move/copy files, etc etc. seriously, you don't need to be some kind of adok to achieve this, and you have to do it only once.

on the other hand, if you want to run a diskimage on a real atari, you have two choices: either write the entire disk using a special tool, or use a special tool that lets you copy the files to your harddisk. you are forced to use these tools for every single diskimage you download, again and again.

i'm all in favour of facilitating emulator users- but not at the expense of real hardware users. perhaps it's better to add an "emulator friendly version" download link, similar to the one for videos?

hmm some people type faster than others it seems... ;)

Agreed! I'm suggesting that both are provided, since more people will see your work then. Forgive me if I've misread "yeah let's not provide disk images for emulator lamers because they're not keepin' it real" undertones into comments like "Good initiative to skip the diskimage crap Sunny!" and "BOO for diskimages! you suck rhinodick!".
I will not prevent one to do a disk image - but I won't provide one. Who is in need should do himself!
I release for Atarians and not Windows freaks :)

But at this point a great thank you that you in general like the game!
Ok, the "Windows freaks" is a bit hard, I know. Sorry for that!
Emulator users go to
http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_detail.php?game_id=5494&PHPSESSID=aa3c918e8c4c64e11842abcc9d4bea0b to find a MSA by Brume.
pete, those undertones were there (it's pouet afterall), so no need to apologize ;)
added on the 2005-02-09 23:00:58 by havoc havoc
Havoc: actually no undertones from me, I just hate getting diskimages when I don't need to. Fear the day when a Falcon emulator is born - harddisk images for every fucking demo ;-)
added on the 2005-02-11 07:50:35 by evil evil
Evil, I second that emotion! Disk images are okay if it is an old style autobooter, but otherwise blummin' annoying when it comes to real hardware. A compromise solution might be to make a hard disk friendly universal .msa launcher for real machines? Just a thought.
added on the 2005-02-12 11:59:40 by CiH CiH
CiH: Well if you download JayMSA you can actually copy the content of an MSA/ST image to your HDD without writing a floppy. It make things a bit better, and without JayMSA it would be nearly completely useless to get those image files (just as if I have working DD-floppies lying around these days!). Of course JayMSA extraction only works on diskimages with a fat12 filesystem in it.

great piece of work, everything sits together very well.

as for disk images, who cares, they're a pain in the arse! cih and evil are right only reason to use them is weird disk formats. and anyway, i prefer hard drive friendly productions like this one to old-skool crazy loaders.

cool game! i'm happy this is playable, well presented, and not tetris or pong (or even pacman)!! great work, guys from paradize! :) and of course cheers to seb and 505 for graphics and music, respectively. ;)

i'm also happy about the stuff not being spread in a disk image. even when using steem i have no problem depacking a normal zip to the virtual hard disk. for really really lazy people, future versions of steem could perhaps open zips as disk images (conversion on-the-fly).
rulez added on the 2005-02-16 17:38:26 by earx earx
Damn, nobody ever asked a disk image ONLY as a MAIN download link...

We only emphasized that a second download link with a disk image (and autoboot) for non atari people who are just curious would be just fine to help them discovering Atari releases, nothing else.
added on the 2005-02-16 17:49:02 by keops keops
keops, imho it's good to emphasize that here because your previous comments on this thread could be interpreted differently. ;)

i like earx' idea by the way (on-the-fly zip to diskimage). not only does it offer a solution to the file/diskimage debate that's acceptable to all sides, it will also prevent any further discussion about individual prods in the future. it really shouldn't be that hard to implement either, considering the emu's can already run zipped diskimages... :)
