This looks better than what I can do in 64KB.
Most realistic visuals I have seen on 256b. Seems like a raymarcher from shadertoy ported in DOS.

I've grown really bored with the 256b raymarchers with the same sort of glitches and marginally different but still similar geometry. All over again.

And every time I think 256bs couldn't surprise me anymore... This is just perfect. Not only did you cram an SDF fractal renderer into that size (I'll excuse the Cherenkov lighting here ;), but the carefuly chosen camera angles and the way you made the performance limit into a strength with that update pattern - chef's kiss.

Now after a bit of Revision recovery and coming back to daily business, here's some small updates.
added source to the prod link section
updated pouet nfo
updated download link content, archive contains:
- remnants.asm (source)
- remnants_dosbox.com (dosbox compatible, but slow AF)
- updated nfo with credits to Xor (@XorDev), where i found the original fractal formulation first
The available source is now commented and a further optimized version compared to the party.
With a few changes and thanks to Rrrolas and Hellmoods proposals this now is 249 bytes with same content.
i decided to spend those 7 bytes to optionally enable experimental PCSpeaker sound, if you compile with "%define PCSPEAKER" active.
