A serious enhancement over Wake Up ! Lots of content, great graphics and a music that never gets boring. I particularly enjoyed the "Kefrens Bars" that go left and right, it's very well thought and unusual (because with CRTC FXs we tend to format our minds to "horizontal" and/or "vertical" FXs). Overall I'm very pleased to retrieve back the people behind the original Wake Up demo (it was 10 years ago!) ; I consider this "Can Robots Take Control ?" like a very great sequel.

Wow, what a blast! There are at least two new never been done soft effects there (tunnel with camera panning, amiga style feedback zoom) and some improvements of old (colorful 3d city). Long time to see a CPC demo of this size that I truly enjoy for it's effects.

Seriously impressive stuff!

About never before done effects, I forgot the zooming checkerboards (we were talking about it, I never sat down to do it, I was lazy :) and slanded rasters and maybe more, I need to rewatch on real CPC.

nice

Thanks Optimus. Regarding soft/hard effects, there is no barrier un this demo. K guess all effects mix them. There is line to line splitting to replicate the pixels in the tunnel and chaoszoomer for example. Chessboard is almost the same code than the zooming plasma, a mix of line to line address change and data copying

Impressive! I liked yet that fast drawn catart. Tune was brilliant and lovely graphics. It's hard to say what i prefered, all parts were awesome, and very sharp pixels. But damn that chessboard was yummy. Congrats to Benediction and Arkos! PS: I love how the demo wrap, excellent lol!! :)

I feel like Amstrad had so much unused potential back in the days. Great demo and lovely "game like" graphics in there.

just got a preview for a fixed version from krusty because the party release has the tendency to crash when loading the next part or shows some corrupted graphics on my trusty CPC 6128

so finally i could watch it in full beauty on the real machine:
some parts are outstanding, i really love it!

You can find the final version here: https://files.scene.org/view/parties/2021/revision21/oldskool-demo/crtc_final.zip

There are not much changes:
- sound and/or crtc transition glitches depending on your CPC version are still there
- greetings logo has been updated
- one logo screen has a palette change

However, we have made some modifications regarding the disk support
- better synchronization with the music for fast drives
- fewer crashes when loading
- 3"5 disc only uses one side; you can still use the one of our previous demos ;)
- 3" disc version has been added; you can then watch the demo on a bare CPC ! WARNING there is no turn disc support. You have to manually flip the disc during the rotating 3d scene and during the display of the very last logo
- m4-cpcwifi version has been added; there are two limitations: there is a sound glitch when loading files, the demo does not loop

As I had very few free-time during this long project, Krusty and Voxfreax did most of the work. I had only the time to code the intro with blocks and the rasterized Mode 1 soldier.

Congratulations to them for having the faith to finish it and thanks to Targhan for his wonderful musical track!
Nice effets. Nice demo!
Huge work. Congrats.

Fantastico! The design, the flow, the music, the sync, the effects, the enhanced art, the cat art!

One of the very best CPC demo. Benediction took control. What a pleasure.

Thanks and congrats.

How could I miss the best Amstrad demo from 2021 ?

Best part for me : reversed bars upside-down ! Love those gorgeous colors at greetings parts (and robot scene after zooming plasma). Details I really appreciated : demo which loops back to cat'art, also the way screen is deconstructed at run. Definitely a solid demo which enlights (and sounds) the Amstrad CPC. What I did not enjoy? most of logos (inc. those with triangles chars), also some gfx and parts (inc. plasma) with pastel palette (Amstrad can be so shiny...), remaining #ED #FF (lol).
