HardCode - huge collection of small intros

category: general [glöplog]
Hello!

I've decided to release my collection of small intros. Please visit www.hardcode.rox.pl for more details and download. I think it's a great idea to accumulate all (all?) tiniest productions into one archive, isn't it?

Great, there are 4k intros too there now!

nice....
cool to see some of my stuff included
but there's a little typo...
"diepontez_0ok" but it is "diepotenz_0ok"
(+ sometimes there are groupnames, sometimes not, doesn't really matter... but yeah, just to mention it)

fucking cool!
thanks for including some of my stuff :)
tip: sort 4k's by platform/year maybe?

Thanks for your appreciation and comments, all of them are important for me. I had a mind to create clean and complete set of the smallest PC productions, and now you can check and enjoy it. You suggest to sort intros better - it's not easy to do it perfectly. Some of them are "noname" or "release_unknow" etc. I will try to optimize and update collection in time.

And I have a question for specialists: how many prods are outside my archive? Please notice there are many pearls inside, for example rare 256B intros of the best (in my opinion) polish 256B coder - Khamoon / Tube27 (tunz, ultra2, zoomer, inside, wormy, hicolor).

You should at least sort your archive by platforms coz it's really painful to have to browse thru all dos stuff.

0256/cracktro final version: ftp://untergrund.net/users/hitchhikr/Cracktro.zip the version you have is bugged like hell.

pirx, i guess pouet.net has listings for differently sized products, like http://www.pouet.net/prodlist.php?type=256b etcetera, maybe there's some on there that you're "missing" (didn't check).

nice idea, btw, and good job.

next step would probably be some platform sort, yes, and then a quality filter maybe to remove the absolute crap, and then proper filenaming (like "group - name of prod" folder names. but that'd be an insane job :)

First update of HardCode is done.

1) many new and missing intros were added
2) some duplicates were removed
3) better folders' names
4) productions for DOS and Windows are separated
5) some small improvements

Check it - hardcode.rox.pl. Everybody can help in developement of this world-biggest (I hope) collection by hunting for missing intros and giving me tips about any inaccuracies in the archive.

Hej Prix fajny pomysł, ale przeskanuj lepiej archiwum antyvirem bo "http://zion.ajd.czest.pl/~i45879/download/intros.zip\intros\0256\dos\advanced radiosity\RADIOSIT.COM" tam siedzi Trojan! Pozdro.

pepto said that his antivirus has detected trojan in 'advanced radiosity' by Broncs (256B intro). This alarm is probably false, I don't know why some antiviruses report it. I've scanned the archive by Kaspersky Anti-Virus (latest bases) and there aren't any viruses.

Another "false alarms" in
intros\2048\dos\gangsta house!\#(GH)FRW.com
intros\4096\dos\greentro\GREENTRO.COM
There's very low probability for "false alarms" so this shit is called virus. Or virus like coding ;)

pepto: If You're not completely sure about it - then run it :D

HardCode has been moved to untergrund.net server - hardcode.untergrund.net. Previous address - hardcode.rox.pl - is still active. Get the current version of archive, I will make updates once by fortnight or by month. Nobody has send me any missing intros, I guess small productions aren't very popular nowadays. That's sad.

Pirx: one went up here yesterday - 32 bytes.
Pirx: you basically have all intros there from pouet - if some is missing, you probably wont find them THROUGH pouet :)

Yea, I know. And it would be better to think this is OUR collection, not only Pirx's collection.

Ronald: I wrote this 32B...

Amazing... even my old (and only) 4kb intro is there :)

Thanks :)

Good work!

http://www.virustotal.com/ - free online virus scaner using 23 different antivirus engines the last time I've checked. It may help a bit if you aren't sure.
