- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Odyssey by Alcatraz [web]
- most boring thing i ever saw. how can something like this win against hardwired? i will never understand.
actually, i HATE this demo.
(actually, digital innovation is even more boring...) - sucksadded on the 2002-07-15 15:32:16
- intro Windows OldSkool D3DX Demo by Oxygene [web]
- i really like it. some more work wouln't hurt, all effects should scroll or fade in in some way. it kinda destroys the oldschool feeling when the bobs suddenly appear.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Hardwired by Crionics & The Silents [web]

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Animotion by Phenomena
- i almost forgot this one. spacecut. 3d-bobs. sine scroller. the tunnel that does not work on most amigas. really cool.

- wild Animation/Video Comic Bakery by Press Play On Tape [web] & Hybris/NEMESIS
- sometimes it sounds little bit unhappy (for a boygroup). there is something wrong with the sync in the renderpart. it is ok, but it does not hurt as much as it should. i don't know how to translate "auf die fresse sync" to english but that is what i am missing.
apart from that, it's great. somehow i expected PPOT dancing but the solution with the renderstuff is cool.
what really frightens me that 30 MB is not that much more than a really large demo... Demos should stay limited to 10 MB at MAX for the next few years, otherwise it really stops making sense wasting so much time in compatibility and speed optimisations just for the image quality. - isokadded on the 2002-07-08 18:19:00
- demo Windows le petit prince by kolor [web]
- this is a great demo, best at that party, but it has nothing to do with the book and some of the character animations are just awfull.
arrrrg. this book would have made such a great demo. but they wasted it. robots and "der kleine prinz". no no no no!
what is left is great athmosphere in perfect style, and a 3d-engine that get's it running, and thats a lot!

- intro Windows poem to a dead horse by kvasigen [web]
- there is absolutly nothing wrong about this very simple intro except for the name. but i guess this is a cheap way of getting some undeserved attention.
i know what crap looks like. this is smooth and simple. but other programmers might manage to make even something as simple as this look like crap.
simple is not crap, just simple. the scene would be less fun if it was forbidden to release simple stuff just because you could as well release demos that take 6 month to create.
(this is especially a problem for people who usually do 6 month stuff and want to do something simple now and then.)
next time anti-aliased fonts please. and a unique name!

- 64k Windows fr-019: poemtoahorse by Farbrausch [web]
- i am awfully sorry that we are not able to deliver groundbreaking demos every year, only every 5 years... in the meanwhile you have to live with demos like fr-019 :-)
yeah, i don't like that "teapot rotating in the middle of the screen style" either. - isokadded on the 2002-06-28 11:54:30
- cracktro XBOX Nobunaga No Yabo 8 by Scoopex [web] & Riot
- my deepest respect goes to slayer of scoopex, the one who changed the demo scene forever by coding the first cool trackmo: mental hangover. that's a one of ten alltime demo. maybe one of five.
we had this "oldschool" discussion in the demo-art thread. i have my very own definition of oldschool spirit, and it has nothing to do with telling everybody how cool everything was ten year ago.
and as a game developer there is one thing i just can't respect: illegal copying. doing it is shamefull (and i know we all have) but being proud of it is disgusting. - isokadded on the 2002-06-26 23:16:31
