• looks a bit like a demo clips reel of some after effects plugin, i.e. feels barren and like this technique is merely supposed to complement whatever the actual content should be
  
  but that's just the comparison i can draw to something external; not strictly a critique! i like the clean unvarnished look, and the music is appropriately jovial, nice one-person effort!

• i think it's more sardonic and embracing of the aesthetic, while poking fun at the tropes and perceived stereotypes... i really like the painting as well and nowhere in the film does it say one should not!
  
  no subtlety whatsoever though and at a few places i feel there was some potential for a more profound point that instead was wasted for some cheaper comedic potshots
