- demo Windows come clean by Fairlight [web]
- This demo just oozes cool. I had it on my CDC list for years. Its message is too direct, maybe borderline condescending, and its visuals are most definitely done to please the crowd. However, it is flashy enough to get away with it, and the driving track just keeps it relevant even now, almost 20 years down the line.
Clearly not the best Fairlight demo, but still a demo most of us would be proud to have made, would you not? - rulezadded on the 2021-04-12 22:23:15
- demo Commodore 64 hello:FRIEND by Fairlight [web]
- I like this one slightly less than "Romeo", because "Romeo" is a bit more explicit, and I like explicit. It is also a bit less exciting visually. But the concept here is just as fantastic, the scenario very convincing and it almost never feels like a demo, which is always a big deal for me.

- demotool Amstrad CPC Gameboy ZX Spectrum Gameboy Color MSX ZX Enhanced sjasmplus
- I used different versions of this assembler on nearly daily basis since 2013. Unfortunately, it was not supported by the original authors for a number of years.
Ever since z00m et al took over, SjASMPlus has been getting regular updates, very quick bug fixes, many new features. Documentation is also being steadily improved. If you are develiping for ZX Spectrum this is the most powerful cross-assembler you can get your hands on. I do not know the situation for every other Z80-based platform similarly well, but rest assured that this is one of the most capable Z80 assemblers in existence. - rulezadded on the 2021-04-09 15:38:23
- 4k ZX Spectrum delightful attributes by Darklite [web] & Offence [web]
- It is clearly one of the best looking 4Ks on ZX. Great tempo and just the right duration. I particularly appreciated your attention to synchronization between music and visuals. The tunnel scroller is the first on the platform as far as I know, and would be worthy of any top demo even without size restrictions. The coloured twisters are also in short supply.
It is great to see Darklite+Offence on ZX Spectrum, and we really appreciate your bringing some of these design sensibilities along. - rulezadded on the 2021-04-05 12:38:23
- demo Wild The Hollow by Darklite [web] & Offence [web]
- I liked it very much, esp. knowing it is an old trusty Z80 under the bonnet. This seems to be one of the more graphics-rich platforms based on the basis of Z80, so it is fun to see it being capable of all this Amiga-like visuals. Your work is definitely an inspiration.

- invitation Animation/Video Together by Us
- It is fun and positive, as a good invitation should be.
More personally, seeing an authentic ZX Spectrum scene was priceless. Many thanks, I really appreciate this. - rulezadded on the 2021-03-21 21:53:18
- 256b MS-Dos up up down by Sensenstahl
- Glad to see this took the first place: most tiny intros are not much to look at, so it is always great to see a tiny intro that does not need to apologize for its looks. Lovely visuals!

- demotool Windows Amiga AGA Amiga OCS/ECS LSP (Light Speed Player) by Oxygene [web]
- Of course this rules.
Quote:I am really looking forward to see what you did there. However, I'd like to flag that the suggested conflict between playback speed and the use of compression is to a large extent illusory; for a while now we have technologies on ZX Spectrum, for which _average_ playback speed of uncompressed PSG stream is slower than the average playback speed of the compressed PSG stream.keeping the data size close to original .mod file, without using compression (because playing should be fastest as possible) was the fun part :) I tested several approach during development.

- There were quite a few write-ups added to the authors' website without announcements here, so for all those who were following them as eagerly as I did, here is a link to a seemingly full collection: http://tbl.nu/posts/.
