- Quote:
I remember this one being good, and people around me wondering what the numbers meant / if they mean anything.
Absolutely nothing. Random numbers suggested by people.
Quote:well why didn't it rank higher or did only become 13th.
I think the demo placed as I expected.
Quote:A tiny bit too scarce content-wise, and I agree with others about the messy direction in the middle, especially with 0,50->1:19.
Yes, I'm a bit embarrassed by that. That part of the demo had to be mostly finished at the party. And due to various reasons some scenes had to be cut off and some scene's look off because my party laptop was way under powered to work with some scenes. - isokadded on the 2016-04-11 17:36:59

- demo Windows Fields of Glass by Traction [web]
- Not every demo needs to feel like a demo and this is an excellent example of it. But I felt there wasn't much content in this demo visual wise.

- demo JavaScript Shivers by Paraguay
- Felt fairly avantgarde for a demoscene production yet had a feel of classic demos. Tech wise your productions have risen in quality in big steps so that's a big plus also.

- demo Windows The Zarahustler by JUGZ [web]
- First the tech stuff,
I think this is the first demo that has had this smooth animation, all the limbs and jittery movement really is done very well. I do like the party hall lighting flash, makes it look even smoother. Awesome song also.
Now..
Second this sexism thing. Well actually I first have to define my position before everything else. Humans are living creatures and as such their primary function given by nature is to spread their genes but we have risen above this system and we can(or at least I hope we could) separate our needs of reproduction when working with other people to make this world a better place for all of us and not taking into account their different physical characteristics when we operate as friends, co-workers and participants of human society.
But sex and different tastes in what they want from sexual partners are reality that people crave and for that reason it is a part of the culture we live in. Now some people have this idea that some people simply stating their or someone else’s sexual desires as part of art is sexist somehow wrong is kinda objectifying some part of people is beyond strange. To me because they are not objectifying a person but just stating someone’s(usually their) desires, which some may be achievable some may not. As humans we should be able to rise above our sexual desires when trying to make this world a better place together, and be able to separate them from how we act with each other in improving the surrounding world now and for the future.
I just don’t feel we should police what people feel is kinky. All this sexual representation stuff reminds me a bit of the argument that was violence in video game and movies will make people act violently which has been debunked and even shown that it lowered their violent actions. Now there are problems in objectifying people and we have to work on that. Also I’m willing to be open for the idea that art reflects problems sexism in human interaction but I don’t think it is the source of the cause and therefor if that is the case here the art represents it well, but I don’t know if that’s the case.
But sure I’m open to change my mind. I’ve read, listen and argued on this, and this is the view that I’ve come to for now. And yes if someone wants go make a demo that has a man that has big butt, muscle and deep sound etc. which many women may find sexy, I’m fine with that personally. But what I’m not fine is that some objectifies a person specifically. - rulezadded on the 2016-03-31 01:03:27
