- 4k Windows French Autumn by shrOOm
- I really liked this one for some reasons. A lot of 2d effects, nicely synced with the good music. I am gonna watch this again.
Btw,. not that it has much to do with this intro (but with the name it has), when I uploaded my entry in the ftp there was another intro called "Belgian autumn" by Bonzai Bros I think. But this one never showed on the compo. Does anyone knows what happened? - rulezadded on the 2009-03-15 15:19:39

- Thanks for your comments. I enjoyed watching the competitions at the streamer.
The plasma is not exactly a traditional plasma but perlin with plasma equation. I like it very much how it looks. I enjoyed making this intro because I have seen it's easy with OpenGL to code something that looks nice in my eyes.
Also, I am not using shaders in this. I am not exactly sure why (I think I wanted to do something with good old OpenGL version that kinda runs even in my old laptop). It might look so for because of the perlin but this is just a procedural texture.
The sound is not good, I know. My brother (who recently wants to contribute in the scene with music) tried buzzic for a while but found it very unfriendly. Also, there were no bytes left (and the music he did was taking 1-2 minutes to precalculate), so I cut some samples and wrote the beginning intro patterns alone.
Another thing I regret, the blobs morphing (based on game of life iterations) I made the mistake (but I knew it, I just didn't bothered or needed to save few more bytes for this and was bored) to not time it by timer but incermenting some value every frame, so in the preety fast compo machine the grid was empty very early after a lot of iterations and it all looked dark and lame very soon :P
Sorry for the long talk, just my impressions. - isokadded on the 2009-03-15 15:14:59

- I quite liked this one. Nice effects and ideas, good music. Ok, looked better on the streamer in quality than here where it's just ok, but I still like it. Suffers from too much RGB but that's not a problem for my eyes :)

- It impresses how smooth those demos look. The animation with the scrolls behind was smooth like silk. I'd like to see that purebasic, does it provide with functions that ensure you it will all be smooth and perfect timed. I have never managed to have smooth scroll with SDL, without jumps or..
