- For some strange reason I have to second Scali.
Yep, rulez. Oh, and binaries please, I want to test it on the real thing! - rulezadded on the 2003-08-25 14:03:17

- Wain, yeah, and we even exploit the buffer overflow thing in the zip deflate algorithm to append the speech in the text file to the intro exe itself. So you can delete the text file, keep only the exe, and it STILL works! Now THAT's amazing, isn't it?

- Who said desing in 4k wasn't possible...
Cool intro, one of the first 4ks with interesting music ;) and an additional thumb for the effort you put into the Win and Mac ports

- 64k Windows svenskarna är här (järn&stål&auw) by Cryonics [web]
- I seriously dig the music. Even with the vocals ;)
Rest is a pretty standard "let's code an intro" intro, but hey, for the heck of it. - rulezadded on the 2003-08-12 20:18:35

- demo Windows XBOX Doomsday by Complex [web]
- Whoa. Rarely are fractals to be seen with THIS kind of beauty.
Codewise it's nothing really special (considering it was done with the XDK), but for the visual and soundtrack alone a thumb up.

- hello brain. replace "rest" with "backgrounds" please.

- demo Windows Legomania by Doomsday
- Sound didn't work here. Might have spoiled the thing a bit...
Anyway. Thumbs up for the lego theme, the usual Matrix reference and especially the "model buildup" scenes, thumbs down for the uninteresting rest, the childish scenepoetry and the absolute absence of feeling for pace and suspense. Conclusion: Piggy.

- 64k Windows Zoom 3 by AND [web]
- Negative points first:
- using the Windows Speech API and then crediting yourself is plain lame. Sorry. (or maybe I'm just jealous how much I could've done in FR intros if I was permitting myself to cheat).
- Also the rest of the soundtrack was in comparison extremely weak. Sound- as well as composition-wise this is where I imagine 4k intros in maybe a year, but definitely NOT 64k intros now.
- all that blurry zoomy layer stuff may have its visual appeal, but you totally overused it. The worst part is that it regularly brings a GF4 as well as a Radeon9000 to its knees; and combined with the fast movement all you see is a slide show of random trash pixels. Not too entertaining.
Other than that: Absolutely stunning. The models and the lighting look just uber. Congrats ;)

- demo Windows ix by Moppi Productions
- I just love storydemos with SO weird stories. Great athmosphere, great visuals, really refreshing... only this far too generic lounge soundtrack disappointed me somewhat.
