Nice effort but it's too slow for what it's showing. Also it seems to hang (can't press esc. anymore) after displaying the core logo on my machine.

Software rendering is always something I like... heres a thumb, and a Youtube Rip :)

Youtube

Video is scaled to 720p (Lancoz4) for a bit better Youtube experience.

Ascii-text rulez. Music - crap.

i didn't like this
Nice but the name is a little bit misleading. I thought that this one was a 25k intro but in fact this is a 59k intro.

It's good to see more people doing software rendered stuff for windows.

Music is ok.

"Software rendering" sounds more like an excuse, as if it makes something plain OpenGL 1.0 looking somehow better. It doesn't. It's an odd and rather self-limiting choice of tools, that is all.
added on the 2011-08-14 16:52:33 by tomaes tomaes
what hfr said -- this looks poor and the software rendering approach doesn't alleviate any of that.

software rendering still rules in 2011!

It's poor but I liked the ASCII art and the software rendering. There's an authenticity to it, perhaps nostalgia, but that isn't worth a thumb.
added on the 2011-08-14 21:24:57 by Claw Claw
Liked the art and the music, otherwise pretty meh.

The logos save it from a thumb down, but just barely. This is really unimpressive.
added on the 2011-08-15 10:07:43 by gloom gloom
titan sucks!
oh well, this reminds me of a 90s era dos demo, compared to a software-render by satori this is pretty cheap :p
however: i guess it is really a cracktro to honour cores 25000th release (what a warez-machine!) and it serves that purpose well. tune is okish, the ascii effect was nice.
i should thumb this down anyway because irokos didnt come to evoke but what the hell :p

This should not have won. What a waste of wonderful logos!

I guess some people consider "software rendering" an excuse for craktro refuse like this... Did the MFX cocktail really pull a number on my eyes or did this intro use fixedsys for ascii art?
added on the 2011-08-15 22:13:18 by Shifter Shifter
I like to think something is software rendered, no matter what some peopel think. Yes, many of these stuff could be done with hw today in much better quality and speed yet I want to imagine the pixel power :)

However, some parts seem quite slow here and this is still a very good machine for soft rendering.
rulez added on the 2011-08-15 23:29:16 by Optimus Optimus
Sound is very good (I'm so tired from standard synth sound of intros).

Titan is back again :) To run the circus with their SWRasterizer!! And damn do they do it like expected from them? You betcha! Keeping it 100 percent.

The art is so good I can't believe it! Scenewise, sooo many different goodscenes.
Faithfully keeping the definite oldschool touch in all it does making
the very warm and guaranteed 64k intro.

Seriously guys, what's that quick and dirty ascii art? Next time put more effort into it. But all in all, a fairly nice cracktro.

one good logo, and that's about it.
i personally feel almost offended for the framerates the effects produce on this machine (>2ghz)

i'm really sorry, but this is really amateurish :) the tune, the ascii, the design, the fx, all of it. i'm not sure if people have subconsciously lowered their expectations these days, but it's sub-par even by nostalgia standards.
added on the 2011-10-29 22:34:13 by reed reed
correction: the logo (by alien i assume) was quite nice, but misplaced.
