- Worthy winner of the compo, though I very much dislike the use of interlace in Amiga demos these days, as it essentially means you have to have either a CRT or a decent de-interlacer in order to watch the demo properly.
Some technical feedback:
- The 3D engine could use some sub-pixel precision.
- I noticed one or two bitplane glitches (for instance, at 1:55 in the youtube). Are you writing bitplane pointers to the copperlist unsynchronized with the copper? - rulezadded on the 2017-04-20 12:21:36

- The influence from The Stanley Parable is evident. I can only start to imagine how insanely fun this must have been to make. Thank you for sharing your fun with us. Also what Gloom said.

- Thank you for the bug report MrYeah and xTr1m.
I finally managed to track down the right gdi32.lib file and reproduce the crash. My earlier attempts at installing the SDKs didn't seem to give me those standard lib files for some reason...
We will investigate. :) - isokadded on the 2017-04-12 23:07:11
- demotool Linux Windows MacOSX Intel Oidos by Loonies [web]
- Welcome to Oidos - yet another 4k/8k synth!
Oidos came into being around a year ago in connection with our Nexus 7 remake 8k intro Nexus 8. Its design is motivated by a desire to closely mimic the instruments from the original music.
Great thanks must go out to Revival for his insightful ideas about additive synthesis which led to the development of this synth.
I wanted to have the public version ready a couple of weeks ago, so people could use it for Revision 2017 productions. That didn't quite play out, but anyway here it is. Still half a week left to make something. ;)
The VST instrument currently requires a CPU with AVX support (around 2011 or newer). This requirement is probably going away at some point. The player code for inclusion in executables only requires SSE3.
It has so far been used in these productions:
Nexus 8
Exit Strategy
Uneven
Xanax
Vikanim
Uplifting
Bubble Trouble
FNTSTC
Serpent
Do try it out! And have fun! And come back here with comments/questions/suggestions/bugs/etc. :-D - isokadded on the 2017-04-10 21:05:51
- 8k Windows Blue Morpho by Eos
- Beautiful 8k!
Sorry for the long precalc, which I guess is partially my fault for making such a slow synth. :) You could of course have cut the time in half by using the multi-threaded version of the player, but then you would have needed some more bytes for that, so...
Great work, both of you! - rulezadded on the 2017-03-23 20:01:02
