one of the best things i have EVER seen & heard in the scene. finally a demo _about_ scene history without tacky retro-nostalgia, but instead conveying a sort-of "general mood" of the illegal scene, its recklessness and madness and overwhelming cameraderie, through top-notch art.
absolutely everything is perfect about this one, no need to point out anything specific, all of it is brilliant. seeing BBS filelists in a modern demo, though, particularly touched my heart as someone for whom such filelists were the first window into the scene.

I have coded demos, far from this caliber, and I know how how much work it is. This is astounding from the first to the last frame! There's details that appear 0.3 sec on screen that must have taked ages to make just right.
This demo is of the kind that made me love demos back in the eighties.

This is the first production in a long time which has really captured the complete "atmosphere" of the scene for me. Imho, there isn't any one part of the scene which defines or defined it. It's everything, everyone involved, the huge productions to a simple but amazing FILE_ID.DIZ which didn't "need" to be good but someone just "wanted" it to look great.
It also perfectly bridges and expertly represents what I thought was an impossible gap between an older version of the scene and what the demoscene is now. We are truly one scene!

Loads of cool stuff. Nice flow and loved Starglider and Voyage references, but man I .. I do not hate the vocals but for me they are the huge minus in all of this.

Fantastic stuff. Everything just works (which probably means a huge amount of work was sunk into it…), and so many nice touches. A bunch of references I won't understand, of course, but it doesn't matter.

joining the chorus to say how sublime this was. it was extraordinary to be part of the compo where this dropped. impeccable editing and effects, genuinely moving artistic expression, fantastic vocals and the lyric video aspect of it is incredibly cool as well. you've made history, in a literal sense as well as a figurative one considering the story this tells. the end fakeouts were also really funny, it's like you knew how much we'd applaud and set it up to do an encore. fantastic work.

Even though, this demo is very clearly a labour of love. It doesn't try to impress, it doesn't try to please; instead, it's very earnest and all the more effective. The attention to detail will probably require several viewing to truly appreciate, and overall it looks like a massive amount of work.
Being there and watching it live was an amazing experience, up there with Elevated. This will be one to remember, and it's already one of my all time favourite demos.

After letting my thoughts percolate a bit during the trip home from the party, I feel like I really need to write something, so I'll try...
Over the years, I've worked on, I guess you could call them cracks, from console jailbreaks to silly nonsense (e.g. cracking games I bought so I can run them on a new computer as I have long lost access to the email associated with my Steam acct). And, at times, it's been a very isolating experience.
Working for weeks and months on difficult hardware hacking stuff without having any progress to show for, while being barely able to talk to anyone about it. Cooperation being strained due to people wanting to cash out via bug bounties vs people wanting to make sure jailbreaks & homebrew are always viable for end users. And the stress from feeling like I'm the only person who both cares about the disastrous effect of "age-gating" laws, while also having the technical know-how to subvert the remote attestation implementations behind it. So many 'previous-generation' jailbreaking people end up working for the companies whose productsthey once attacked, while being at most worried about the privacy implications of what they are making, but not the control it gives to these companies.
Despite it all, this demo makes me feel like my efforts are not futile, that I am not alone, and that there will be others to pick up the slack once it's time for me to retire.

Very quickly one of my new all time favs, omg. awesome shit
it's kinda alright i guess. what Preacher said, but aesthetically not my thing at all. appreciate a lot of the attention to detail, and a few genuinely nice parts, like the use of blur and some of the fluid transitions between 2D and 3D graphics elements. the whiplash from oscillating between pixel perfect crisp character mode graphics and fully post processed current year abstract 3D shaders that bring a modern GPU to its knees is a hard sell no matter what. the soundtrack contains all the ingredients for something brilliant, but being quite underproduced there's a whole lot of potential left on the table.
but even with all that in mind i guess this is part of the "Razor" charm to an extent, and i don't really wanna fault anyone for that; at this point both me and you whoever decided to read this comment just have to come to terms that it's not for me.
